The Farmer’s Faith by Shyamal Mondal
The Farmer’s Faith
by Shyamal Mondal
Crops grow in fields all year round,
The farmer toils and sows the ground.
But do we ever truly care
For those who give us food to share?
Floods and droughts may spoil the yield,
Still they work and never yield.
To farmers, farming’s more than chore —
It’s faith they hold at their soul’s core.
With earth and mud their lives are tied,
Yet in that life, joy does abide.
Tattered clothes may clothe their skin,
But grief does not reside within.
From blood and sweat their harvest grows,
That feeds our bodies, as life flows.
Yet dressed in suits, the city men,
Cast them aside, time and again.
